Beginning today, October 25th, Country Based IP Blocking will now be available for all customer’s Control Panels for our Hosted Exchange service..
This new security feature is designed to give admins the ability to create and configure Country-based IP Safe or Block Lists for both administrators and end users in order to block access to customers systems from potentially high fraud-risk countries. (i.e. China, Russia, etc.)
New in this release is the ability to choose countries from a dropdown list and set safe/block policies for end users. Multiple policies may be configured, each made up of the specific countries they are looking to either restrict or allow access from.
Additional features available to admins include:
– Ability to manage country restrictions separately from IP restriction policies for your customer’s Account Contacts
– Restrictions created for countries in addition to IPv4 addresses & range of IPv4 addresses
– Ability to add comments to restrictions for clarity
– Ability to select generic or specific “Error Message” notifications when policy is violated
These policies will be available in a newly renamed section in your customer Control Panel > Account > Security Policies > IP/Country Access.
Please note: IP-Based Access has been renamed IP/Country Access. All existing policies will remain in effect and can still be accessed from the IP/Country Access Tab.
